Are you an unqualified optical dispenser? Take control of your future in 2010! The Melbourne College of Optics in association with the Australasian Dispensing Opticians Association (Vic) are proud to announce the introduction of our new course called “ophthalmic dispensing level 1”. The ADOA (Vic) introduced a system of competency testing and accreditation for dispensing opticians at the end of 2009. Ophthalmic dispensing level 1 is intended for those already employed in the optical field who are wishing to further their knowledge and standing by seeking ADOA competency certification. Level 2 accreditation will follow, then finally accreditation as a “master dispensing optician” which will require a minimum six years industry experience. Accreditation examinations will be held by the ADOA (Vic) at various times throughout the year.
